About Us As Your Mediator
As mediators, we know there is life after the life-changing family law event. In this capacity, our goal is to assist parties in a voluntary process with creating their own agreement which is both workable and durable, as it is important to create an agreement that will work for both parties for years to come. This assistance is provided as a neutral professional who is directive but impartial, non-judgmental, respectful, and flexible. We are comfortable working with parties and their attorneys or those parties who are not represented by an attorney.
Mediation Areas
Whether you are at the very beginning of your life-changing family law event or are on the eve of trial, mediation can work to reduce costs, reduce uncertainty, and expand options. There may be some information and document sharing that will be needed for a party to feel comfortable enough to negotiate, but that sharing can be made a part of the mediation process. We are thoroughly familiar with the topics that parties undergoing a life-changing family law event will be navigating and negotiating. In our capacity as attorneys, we have participated in hundreds of mediations representing clients which gave us a practical understanding of what mediation style worked for various types of personalities and couples and which style did not. As mediators we have completed extensive family skills mediation training to receive our qualifications under Rule 114, Minnesota Rules of General Practice. Whether your goal is to settle your entire case or only to only focus on a few difficult issues you cannot resolve without the assistance of a professional, as mediators we adjust to meet your needs. We will explain to you the entire process from the outset, define all our roles and boundaries, focus on the issues which are important to you, assist you with careful planning, and work with compassion and strength.
